What lures for my Tatula elite rod?

Featured Replies

I bought a Daiwa tatula elite Brent Ehrler dropshot spinning rod. I connected a tatula lt 400 on it with 8 lb McCoy copolymer line on it. It's a medium power fast action 7'1 rod. It's rated 1/8-1/2. What lures would you recommend for this? It will be my only rod and I want to use as many different types of lures on it. I already use it for dropshots, shakey heads, light Texas rigs, jigs up to 3/8 and a trailer. Do you think I can use crankbaits and jerkbaits? I'm thinking I can use up to 1/2 for those. What about spinnerbaits? Is a 3/8 jig to much for a medium?

I’d use it for any bait that weighs between 1/8 and 1/2. If it’s your only rod, use it for everything. If, you had a selection of rods to choose from, you could dedicate it to just a few baits, but don’t be afraid to try it for whatever you have within the rods rating.
