Was at a yard sale today and seen uncle josh pork baits for ten bucks a jar.    That got me curious so eBay prices where nearly double that.  What am I missing.  Is there that big a market (I might have a hook up for nearly 100 jars, if price is right to make money) 

 

Uncle Josh has gone out of business and a ton of people used their product. A lot of people will buy them when available. If you can get 100 jars, I would go for it. You should be able to sell them

Uncle Josh is NOT gone - just the pork rinds are...they couldn't get 'quality' pork skins with enough fat on them to make the classic rind.

Never used them before but this winter my local fleet farm had a bunch of bags of uncle josh pork craws so I bought probably 6 bags. When I took them home they were super stiff and a couple broke when I took them out of the pack even though they all were covered in a bunch of oil. A

they also were some pretty weird shapes with a lot of them being all folded over. I’m assuming that they aren’t good anymore, anything I can do to save them?

The opposite is the issue too much fat too thin skin from fast growing of pigs.

The truth is pork rind jig trailers lost the market to soft plastics. Plastics are easier to use, don't dry out or messy to use and  come in unlimited colors and shapes. 

For those who know pork trailers work good there is a market.

The bagged ones are not nearly as good as the ones that come in jars. I'm assuming you got the ones from the MEAT lineup of Uncle Josh baits.

I hadn’t  heard this, and our local mom and pops store has a shelf full

for 2.49 each.  Once hearing that was wondering if the market was that good or not. 

What types and colors? #101 spin frog, #11 frog, #33 & 34 crawdad in black, brown, purple, white are all popular. Just factor in shipping cost if you plan to sell them.
