Hocust Locust...how do you retrieve?

Featured Replies

I just got one of these the other day.  It's not like a hula popper or Pop-R, you have to hold the rod a bit high and real it in just quick enough to make it wobble like a crank bait??  After about 3-5ft of this action it dives to the left.  It's hard to figure out how to use this thing.

Any experience with this bait?

I have one, but use it rarely.  I got it a few years back when the locusts were pretty bad.  I have reeled slowly and quickly.

With the slow retrieve,  there was a pretty good wobble.  Seemed to have better action than a fast retrieve.

If there are locust on the water, I'd say observe them and see what action the real deal has and when the bass hit it.
