Daiwa Alphas CT SV spool

Featured Replies

I'm looking to see if there is a spool with more line capacity than the spool that comes with the reel which is listed- 8lb - 100m , 10lb - 80m , 12lb - 70m. Also are there any upgrades for this model.

Thanks

Guess most are out enjoying the long weekend.  :smile1:  I don't know jack (fill in) about spools.  I tried looking for you, but all I saw were same size replacement spools or even shallower finesse spools.  There are several very knowledgeable Daiwa guys on here so maybe one or two will be along...eventually...to give you an answer.

Th stock spool holds plenty of line. I have one with 20lb and another with 40lb sufix 832. After entire spring and summer season of reties I have plenty left on both and never come close to getting spooled on the cast.

I have not seen any deep spools on the market yet.

As for handles for Daiwa, what size are where there knobs attach? If I want a carbon handle that isn't 80 +dollars I want the knobs that came with the alphas CT to fit on the carbon handle. Sorry if I sound like a complete novice lol. Thanks for any info

Awesome thank you for the info! That Gomexus handle looks awesome and if you did reach out and confirm that the original Daiwa knobs fit it that would be great. That would be the handle I went with. I appreciate you sending the links to the parts!

Gomexus handle is great and the knobs are great too imo. Looks decent too, except for them orange washers. 95mm in the pic.

It is the 611 m+ adrena. It was pretty fun, but this rod has deceivingly strong backbone and pike in my area usually play dead after first 10 seconds. That smallie above actually put up a better fight. I know most people tout this reel as bfs’ish, but I used it literally for everything throughout the season and it is a true work horse (the two I have are 6:1).

The knobs that come on that handle are also sold individually to fit Shimano and Daiwa reels so yes I would say with 99% certainty that the handle will accept the factory Daiwa knobs and then you have two cool Yumeya style knob to offload to shimano fans.  I can't confirm 100% because I do not have that handle.  I do however have a number of the Ray's handles and yes they take Daiwa knobs but I would go Gomexus.  I'm planning on replacing some of my Ray's  with Gomexus.

Awesome I appreciate your help! The Gomexus look way better, I think I'll replace my others with those as well!

You will be better off with a Basszone off ebay for a Daiwa style carbon handle.  Pic is of a basszone

Great looking out I appreciate the info before I ordered! I might go with the one with the orange accent you sent the other day it'll match the alphas CT! Hopefully the Daiwa knobs will fit that handle!!
