Rod rod tip damage?

Featured Replies

So my tallest rods im always hitting the rod tips on walls, or something else how hard is to damage a rod tip? do you think a rod tip can take some hits like that and can be used normally?

i see no sign of damage there, but since is such a small piece im not sure if i should trust or not that everything is ok

Im kinda ocd with mu fishing stuff ... i take care very well but hitting the tips on rods is something out of my control lol

Run a Qtip over it.  If anything is wrong you will know.

Yea, just look close at the tip insert. Q-tip is good test to see (feel) if it's chipped.

Looking with a magnifying glass works too.

Detected a little bump around the guide (circle) but outside the guide on the tip, as long as is not on the circle (inside guide) it should be fine i believe not exactly what those small bumps are since it looks like its metal around the tip

Rod sleeves are cheap, and will save you a headache.

I'm a klutz, so I go one step further and put a rod tip cover into the top all my rod sleeves.

I don’t allow my rods tips to freely dangle around at home or during transport.

Talk about babying equipment, lol. Guilty as charged, lol.
