Google Maps Boat Ramps

Featured Replies

I thought this might help a lot of people that travel to other lakes and to find boat ramps and also get a little info on the ramp (price if any, condition of ramp, and their is a dock).  I just did 2 lakes that is in my area but I thought I would make the map open so others can add ramps from their area.

I figured it would help people plan their trips better and help out beginners that might not know where boat ramps are.

I'm not sure in anyone else has done anything like this.

I've shared a map with you called Boat Ramps:

what a great idea!

How do I add/update that map with ramp in my area ( boston, ma)

Thanks

I have it open for anyone to edit the map, but this is my first public map so I'm still learning.  I might have to add people by emailing them, but one person can email another person and that person hopefully can email others and it can grow quickly hopefully.

try to add this map by clicking "Save to My Maps" and sign into your google account (free account if you don't have one).  Then, on my screen atleast, it shows the ones I have done and then click edit and that's when you can add other post.

If I have to add people by emailing them, you can put it here or send me a personal message if you don't want others to see it.

It would be great if I could add the moderators here so we could spread the word fast and get this to be a big active map that can help people in the future and the sport of fishing.

Here is a website that has POIs for PNDs. there is an on going project where people summit just what you are looking for.  You can download the file for use on your TomTom, Garmin, Magellan or any other PND.

This one already has 144 ramps listed. Please sign up and you can add more.

There also quite a few other POI files.
