I have a 04 2200 / Merc 250 EFI

As far as quality goes I dont think you can beat a Gambler. Everything about the boat is top quality and very well built. I've been in boats that ride better in rough water but if you get enough time in the seat, you can make the ride a lot better.

I would suggest looking for a 2100 or a 2200. The Intimidator leaves a little to be desired from what I hear as far as space, ride and speed.

You might want to check the HP Rating plate on that Intimidator, I'm not sure they are rated for a 250. I think that is only for the 2100 and 2200. You should be able to find a good deal on one right now, there are several around for sale.

The only negative thing I have to say about Gambler boats is that the livewells could be bigger and set up a little better. Plus the livewell pumps are mounted kind of high under the back deck (to allow easy change outs) and when they turn on, they are kinda loud.

I've fished many times off a 2100 with a 200.  One of the best fishing boats I've ever been on.  The stability of these boats is insane.

Burley mentioned to me that Scotts Gambler was one of the finest, most stable peeing platforms he's ever been on.

Take that to the bank.   :)

You can definitely rate the stability when it comes time to pee!   ;D

It wasn't that bad, but I've found a Bullet to be the best.  I don't think I utilized the Champion since I was wearing too many clothes.

Thanks five bass I too was wondering about the 250xb on the back of the thing and couldnt really get a good answer on the net on there website which looks like it needs updated it is saying 235 so im not sure. Ive called the place several times for info its near baltimore and looks to be around a seven hour trip for me so. Like i said i wanted a gambler when i got my toon but got such a good deal on it i couldnt pass it up. The only downside i see too the boat im looking at is its single console which i like but dual looks way better in gambler, also im a big guy and ive heard that the legroom under the cockpit is not as good and as roomy as other boats.     Feel free to enlighten me  btw nice boat!! 8-)

Good luck with Gambler's website....it hasnt been updated since 03....thats the year model of the 2200 in the pics on there. You'll be lucky to get someone on the phone that can help you at all, even with the simplest of questions.

Gambler really lacks in website and phone interaction, believe me.....but the quality of the boats makes up for where they lack in other things. They obviously like to keep overhead to a minimum.

I'm a big dude too and the cockpit is a little cramped for big fellas but it's manageable. I dont have any issues driving the boat at all. I'd rather have a single console but the singles are hard to find, heck, any Gambler is hard to find at times. Both Gamblers I've had have been dual consoles. Dual looks better than single but that extra console gets in the way sometimes.

As with any boat purchase, get the motor checked out and dont settle for anything less than what you want.
