RAM® Trolling Motor Stabilizer questions

Featured Replies

I've got a couple questions about the RAM® Trolling Motor Stabilizer.

First off, I've got a 2008 Champion 210 Elite with a 36 volt 109 lb thrust Motor Guide Tour Edition.

Now my questions. I'm seeing 2 different sizes of the RAM® Trolling Motor Stabilizer, which one do I want? Next, Does anyone here have one and are they any good? Any issues I should be aware of, ie. do they get in the way of the rod straps, are they junk, do they screw into the deck, etc?

Thanks all

Come on, someone's gotta know something.

Are they just that unpopular or did I upset everyone here and no one wants to share?

I use one for my Motorguide Tour 24V 82 lb unit.  Works exceptionally well.  I love it.  Mine does not interfere with the rod straps; your boat may be different.

The base does screw into the deck.  On the motor side, it is a hose clamp with a rubber sleeve that holds the base on it.

As for which one you want, I can't answer that.  You'll have to measure the height from the shaft below the head (where you'll mount the motor side base) to the deck.  Mine was 7 inches, so I use the 7.25 inch model.  Any more than that, and I would go with the 11 incher.

Been looking at one myself. But haven't heard anything about them. I do have Ram mount for Hummbird SI and its bad a**. Rock solid.

Thanks for the replies. Someone mentioned a stabilizer that is made by a company called rmr industries called cam lock, I've searched and cant find it online. Has anyone heard of it?

***Update***

Its called a RMC Trol~Lok Trolling Motor Mount

Looks pretty cool

I run an MG 109# and I use a TM straps from "ROD SAVER" there are two straps one goes around the shaft by the motor and the other goes by the head of the TM. It works great. I had a TM get ripped off on Erie so I now make sure I have the TM secured
