Why wouldn't it?  I personally have other options that I'm comfortable with like the beavers from RI, and Rage when it comes to a beaver as a chatter trailer...But there's not reason to think it work as a trailer for a anytype of jig.  

Yes, but so will most any plastic you put on there.

Those things are really buoyant, so keep that in mind, it will probably make the chatterbait swim higher in the water column and you may need to slow you retrieve a bit. 

 

I can't stand fishing those thing weightless or even with light weight on them because they take forever to fall, and I don't have the patience.

They sure do, I start out with craw and creature bait trailers on the back of chatterbaits in late winter.  At that point I fish a CB more like a jig and I do better then my buddies who use ktechs and baits with lots of action.  I like to use smaller creature baits, like smallie beavers to eliminate lift.

One of my favorite Chatterbait trailers is a Netbaits Paca Craw.

 

Anything that puts off a lot of flapping action works really.
