Choosing new batteries

Featured Replies

I am currently running 4 group 27 Interstate batteries on 16' flat bottom. It seemed a little sluggish with max speed of 4.0mph with a maxxum80 rear and maxxum70 bow. I dont feel confident that I can go on larger reservoirs(>200acres)and fish all day.

I have a cracked casing and dry cell on one of the batteries from when a tiedown broke the battery was damage during transport. However my above situation was before this happened.

My question is since I need to replace batteries anyway what would be my best option for a 24V system? I am more concerned with weight however the batteries are currently in the very back of boat and I am not against moving them forward.

The boat is a 16' with 51" floor  64" width.
