Anyone else own any Cashion rods? Just picked up a 7ft M/H fast CRT series. These are made in Sanford, N.C. just a couple hrs away from me. 3 year warranty, no questions asked $25 replacement. It's in the price range of the Dobyns Fury and St. Croix Mojo/Triumph series. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but wondered if anyone else used them.

I've window-shopped these a bit out of curiosity. The only review I've found that didn't feel like an ad for them is one posted here by @th365thli. Didn't buy one because I just talked myself out of another casting rod at the time, but that's maybe changing in the near-ish future.

 

 

I'd be interested in what you think, since the model you bought is the exact one that I was looking at.

I saw these rods at the 2020 Classic expo and was thoroughly impressed. I liked everything about them from the grips, handles, light weight and different options in lengths and powers but we all know everybody has their preferences of gear, so take my opinion for what it is. Only two reasons I didn't pick any up at the time was because I took a plane to and from the classic and most of those rods were out of my price range at the time. It is a plus that they are made, or assembled, in America at least. 

The rod handle is composite and has a different feel then other traditional handles. Good rods.

i have a 7 foot light that i fish neds and drop shot with sometimes. i like it but i cant help you with the casting models

   I always heard they were good, but nobody stocked them near me. Then one of my fishing buddies showed up with the John Crews 7' Squarebill rod. HOLY COW! That rod feels wonderful! That's important to me, because I use squarebills around riprap, and depend on feel for my position cues.

   He said that he tried other Cashion rods, and they all consistently felt light and had good actions. He fishes a lot like I do - tight line retrieve, moderate to moderate fast action - so I trust his opinion.

 

   However .....  it's gonna be Black Friday or Christmas before I can fund my curiosity.  ??     jj

So, I got a chance to use the new Cashion today, I love it... At least so far. The sensitivity is great! Also, the backbone really made the hook sets seem easy. I caught one on a 1/4 oz swim jig and one on a Ned rig. The grip took a little getting use to, but in about a half hour I was loving it. I love the action also, but it feels a little different than my other fast action rods... can't quite put my finger on it yet. Anyway, I would not hesitate to purchase another one.

Personally, I think the grips are super ugly so I never bought one. Never heard a single thing bad about their performance though.

i actually like the grips. they dont look great but they stay nice and tacky even when wet.

I'm not crazy about the look of them either, but I like the feel a lot after getting used to it.

Saw these at at my local shop and was handling them. they all felt really nice but didnt know the differences in their line up to pick one up on the spot.  The elite and the Icon rods were the same price so that threw me off a little bit.
