Nope. Keep 'em both and buy the DC.  Also, I highly recommend buying a new rod to put that new DC on. You're welcome.

Keep them.  My first Curado K was the 8.5:1.  It's quick.  Almost too quick.  Just my experience.  If the technique you're planning to use it for work well with a high speed, go for it.

Still trying to find the perfect D Rig Rod. That new Kaden 744c might be it. Awesome tip on it.

@Tatsu Dave will be along to explain. ?

Seriously though, if you can swing it, keep the other two and buy the 8.3. Fast reels are great for taking up slack quickly when using techniques where you're moving the bait with the rod tip. Jigs,T rigs etc.

OK, so I have a k and a DC. I love the DC and have said how great it is multiple times on this site. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it but looking back, I don't think it's really worth the coin. I like my K more; deeper spool and lighter than the DC. Stick with what you got.

I think the 8.3 to 1 ratio is a little high for the computer controlled reels.   I have 2 of the Curado DC reels and I think that they excel in getting extra distance with the same or a little less effort, when throwing spinner baits & square bills, and the like.   With the 8.3 ratio, I'd have to consciously slow down when retrieving

I use stickbaits-lg grubs-worms-creature baits-craw baits-swimbaits-and lizards. 3/0 and 4/0 hooks EWG always just hook tip skin hooked, and heres the big difference to me. I fish them faster in more of a sluggo style w/jerks and twitches steady on retrieve. Seldom let them deadstick or sit for periods on the bottom, they move constantly and trigger a lot of strikes to keep me doing it for so many years.

This is Dave's description. I've been kidding him about calling it a Dave rig. I need to spend some time with it. Sounds like it might be a great way to fish a beaver. Should have a great glide.

Opinion?  I like broccoli. Keep them all and add to your collection.

I would keep them.  I tried the 8.5:1 and didn't care for the speed.  It was almost too fast so I got the 7.4:1 instead.  I also have both the 6.2:1 and the 7.4:1 Curado K's.  All of them are great reels.  I find the DC reel to a useful tool but not an upgrade or improvement on the regular K>  It is a little smoother though.  The DC is nice for windy conditions but for most of my day to day fishing the K's are fine.
