I thought maybe some of you Minnetonka guys might enjoy this

The number of tournaments held on Tonka is insane really - crappie, bass, pike muskie, walleye...every species has several tournaments through the year.

That vid was for the tournament held this past Saturday - 4/30

There's another crappie tournament on Tonka coming up this weekend - 5/7

Then bass season opens the following weekend and they take over - 16 tournaments this year.

The weather last weekend was raw.  Downright miserable.  There was a reason I was anchored at home lol.  I saw on the news that we only had TWO days in all of April that were sunny.

I'll be out there this Saturday at the MN Bound Crappie Contest out of Fletchers!

I was out there today for a couple hours.  Caught some crappies, got my boat running for the first time this spring.  It was a lovely afternoon out there.

I actually did enjoy it.  So many problems with these guys though. For starters, the water is like 45 degrees and not a single one of them was wearing a PFD.  That's just dumb.

Second, if you're pre-fishing for a contest, shouldn't you be releasing fish you catch prior to the tournament so you can come back and catch them DURING the contest???  Seems logical to me.

Biggest one I caught this afternoon was 11.5 inches.  My co-pilot enjoyed going with too.

We weighed in our crappies early at 10am to avoid the zoo at 2pm. Probably caught about 45 crappies in about 4.5 hours. My Father was the current clubhouse leader after we weighed in. He got called up on stage for an interview with Bill Sherck!
