I love bank fishing with a texas rig and am looking to expand my arsenal for soft plastic baits. The place I fish has a pretty big patch of eelgrass that goes diagonal for a good amount of distance. Any recommendations? I had pretty good success with the rage bug. Its a pretty pressured lake so I usually just land 1-2 fish averaging about 1 pound. I'd prefer catching more fish than bigger ones since I only have a 2 hour period to fish that lake usually during sun down. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've done well in and near eel grass snaking a straight worm (or one of those with the tiny curly tail) with a slightly heavier weight than working it on the bottom. A sparse swim jig with a curly grub too.

Throw a zoom mag 2 right now. Tis the season.

This is my approach too.  In my case it was a turbo fattyZ and an unpegged texas rig so the worm would float up and over the eelgrass a bit but the weight would still get down through it.  Snake it through some, fish it standard some other.  And a thin swim jig swum parallel to the strands (and if they have a consistent direction ideally in the direction they are going) if you can will slide through really easily.

People thing they won't get many bites on the big ribbon tail worm. I caught a 1 pounder on a 12" Culprit recently.

My PB was on the Culprit Fat Max ribbon tail. They work just fine.

I don’t really think the mag 2 is all that big, because it is thin. I don’t know why, but it has been the ribbontail worm to end all other ribbontail worms for me. I started throwing it everywhere after it worked pond fishing and found it has worked everywhere I use it.

Tournaments on big bass lakes have been won using that and similar worms.
