Looking to buy one of the Dobyns Sierra Casting rods to use with Chatterbaits. I’ve heard a Heavy is more like a Medium heavy, is this true?

    Ya - pretty much take the Dobyn's designation and drop it one level...at least on the casting side.

     

    My FR-704C is labeled as a 'Heavy' - but the line/lure stats are the same as my Aird-X 'Medium Heavy'

    Absolutely true. I have 2 of them . They are both awesome rods . Lots of back bone but they have enough flex to keep fish pinned .
