When you work a Spook type bait, do you prefer right to left or left to right?

  • Super User

Actually, that depends on the slope of the green. Could be either way. ?

Honestly, I had never given that any thought. I am guessing I’ve probably worked it both ways. I will observe the next time I toss one.

I’m looking forward to see what others will say.

If you did understand, it would be frightening.

My spook is the middle of the road.

Up and down.

LOL, went for a group bike ride yesterday, and most folks are doing a steady(ish) effort throughout, I was doing interval efforts up any hill with a power spin over the top, a couple of the guys tried to come with me, and at one of the rest stops, one asks, how do you accelerate up the hill without shifting down or loosing cadence, without missing a beat, I say "are you pedaling left, right left, or right, left right, it makes a difference", had them going for almost 5 minutes making up all kinds of silliness on the fly...

Down and up of course.

I’m stealing this, that’s great. Like asking for a left handed screw driver to the new guy.

Got it....rod tip worked left to left?

Well I realized it’s soo much easier to to work them right to left and surmised my rods must be designed for right to left.  A very subtle design factor but very good to know. I’m definitely on something or on to something.

New moon waxing crescent?

I'm ex-military, we always start with the left.

  • Super User

Left to Right for a Feeding strike.

Right to Left for a Reaction strike.

Is that not common knowledge?

And find a way to get out of step before the second verse of the cadence "C130 rolling down the strip"... :)

Probably the last time you ask this crowd that type of question lol

It seems to me like it's more of a muscle/body/physics thing. While your shoulder is not actually rotating, right to left seems like an internal "rotation" versus left to right is more like external rotation. Altho that logic only works if you hold your fishing pole in your right hand. Any lefties want to chime in?

Either way . . . .
