Super User N Florida Mike Posted February 18 Super User Share Posted February 18 A couple of months ago a neighbor cussed out my grandson about our 2 dogs barking for a few minutes at 10:30 at night, largely because he was shining them with a Q beam, and yelling at them. I got involved at the tail end of it, and it’s been quiet with him since . We have tried to keep the dogs in as much as possible since then, so that issue seems to have died down. The niegbor across the road gets upset if we park our vehicles on the road, or even in our strip of yard by the road. He’ll come over and tell us to move them! of course, I’m never home when he does it .But he’ll have people over and they park in the road in front of our house … So yesterday the niegbor across the canal cussed at my son in law because he was working on his motorcycle around 6 pm and didn’t like the noise I guess. This nieghbor is the one that owns the “ bumpus dogs”, as I call them. It seemed like any time I would walk out back to fish , they would open the door and the 5 dogs would come pouring out barking at me. I’m frankly shocked that , of all people, they would get upset over a few minutes of motorcycle noise, and we’ve put up with their dogs now for years. We were here first , and “ their rambling don’t rattle me”, but what is the problem? What’s also strange is that they know I’m the owner , but they won’t just come ask me nicely. I haven’t ever threatened anyone , and have tried to be a good nieghbor. Now there’s a tension that we don’t want. I have tried to maintain the peace and love my nieghbors, but this is getting out of hand…We aren’t “ that nieghbor”, but are getting treated that way. I don’t care what they think of us, but I don’t need or want the drama. Maybe we’re too red-neckish for what they want things to look like ? We had a family discussion about it and can’t understand it. Thanks for letting me vent. I suspect many of you have similar issues.
