Blast from the past baits

Recommended Posts

I found a small bait shop selling baits in a discount bin.  They appear to be baits someone purchased and then shelved.  They are all from around the same time period.  The packaging on all but the 3x baits is delaminating. I have also bought a pack of kinami flash and norise bugs from the same shop a year earlier.  That bug became my favorite finesse jig trailer.

The strike king 3x plastics use the same type of super elastic floating plastic as zman elastech.  This plastic has been on and off the market for years before zman made it stick.  I used to use terminator snap back plastics and the strike king 3x.

What I found interesting is that these 3x cyber plastics have salt in them.  This was the breakthrough that zman used to allow non ewg hooks to penetrate the plasric on the hook set instead of stretching around the hook point as it comes.  That was the big issue with this plastic and I thought why it failed time and time again until zman.  These 3x cyber plastics have salt impregnation which I don't remember  20 years or so I fished these.  Maybe the memory is confusing the terminator snap back plastics with the striking king 3x.

I fished a couple years ago with the creator of the Wave Worms. My very first question to him was ...what the hell was Molopo?

Molopo= anise.  At least that's what my nose told me...

I have a bunch of 3X Strike King trailers still, I think some lizards also. I've got some 4" Kinami stick worms in a white with gold/black/silver flake also. One of my favorite smallmouth wacky worms.
