Got a Pinnacle Platinum Plus Baitcast Reel from Wally World a couple of years ago and really like it. Took it out last weekend and the when I went to set the hook the reel handle and spool started turning backwards like the anti reverse stopped working. It catches at times and works but is not dependable anymore. I know the reel is inexpensive but I would like to try to fix it. Y'all think there is any hope and where should I start?

I had removed the spool and wiped it down and used a drop of reel oil on each end where the spool goes into the bearings.

I would try taking it apart and soaking the anti-reverse bearing in lighter fluid a few hours then dry it and then a few drops of oil to it.

thanks, I used electrical contact cleaner and light weight oil. Works better than ever. Going to do it on my other one. The grease that was on it from the factory was really thick and slowed it down alot!
