Saltwater reel recommendations

Featured Replies

Anyone have saltwater spinning reel recommendations?  Planning to fish Southern California beaches for perch, corbina and halibut. Planning on using a carolina rig or luckycraft 110’s using a 7 foot mf spinning rod. Trying to keeping it under $200. Thanks!

The penn fierce combo I bought a couple years back has been great and especially for the price.

The Daiwa BG series are great reels.  I have the 3000 & 5000 that I use in saltwater.

Well below your price point too.

I have the exact same BG reels also and have been happy with them.  I want to try a BG MQ next.

I wound up going with a Shimano Spheros SW.  Almost all my reels are Shimano and this one feels familiar to me. Thanks for all the recs!
