Life time warranty’s?

Featured Replies

What company’s offer life time warranty’s? I know old town canoes and kayaks,  Dobyns. I love supporting these kind of companies

With warranties the devil is in the details.  Dobyns has a "limited" lifetime warranty.  It covers defects in materials and workmanship, so 50 years from now if you realize they made a mistake when making your rod they will replace it.  How likely is that?

Falcon does for the Cara, Expert, and Lowrider series.  Workmanship and defects, but I've never heard of them not replacing a broken rod.

Manufacturers get to determine what a “lifetime” means”

Yes but no quarantee on ours just to put it in perspective.

Orvis will replace rods for any reason.  You slam the rod in a car door, and you get a new one no questions asked.  Of course you pay for this service when you buy the rod, so in the course of a lifetime, the money is the same.

For rods, any actual manufacturing defect will show itself in the first times the rod is loaded.  Any warranty longer than a year is really just an insurance policy against you breaking it thru your own actions.  You are paying for it somehow/someway thru the retail price of the rods.... Not to mention the replacement fee most companies charge.

Not saying it's a bad thing, as the piece of mind it provides is a selling point for many.

Gloomis used to.

now, I'm over it.  I cant expect some company to sponsor my shananigans.   I own my mistakes that cost me a rod.  like taking a punch weight to the rod shaft..who does that?  me apparently.

Costa ruined my faith in "Lifetime" warranties

Nothing has changed.  I just warrantied a salmon rod about a month ago.

Some St Croix models do.  It depends on the rod itself.

Two-part warranty. If it breaks in two, you get to keep both pieces.

This is a tad off-topic, but we bought some pretty expensive gutters with the leaf guards that are guaranteed not to clog and for any defects in product or workmanship. It still cost us $90 to get two guys out here for a service call to do some caulking to stop leaks.

Oh lol no big deal.

I bought a NRX+ last year over a P5 mostly due to the warranty.

If I break it in a door or ceiling fan or whatever, spending $175 for a new rod is a dang good deal.

Yamamoto has a lifetime warranty on Senkos. If you ever run out, they will sell you a replacement pack at retail cost.

Say more please? I’ve had zero issues with costa warranty and I’ve used it about 4 or 5 times over the past 15ish years…

Okuma x series rods have lifetime warranties.
