Hi guys,

First of all, I would like to thank all the valuable input about the Shimano stella 2500 FB. I got my reel and I'm so happy with it that I've decided to buy another reel, this time I'm going for a New Stella limited edition.

I need help again. I think roadwarrior gave a the actual line capacity on the 2500 which he was using. I need the same kind of help again.

Do any of you use a Stella 3000 size? I need the line cap and the diameter of line this reel can take. I know I can check it on the website but I was surprised a few times by manufacturers values!

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

I looked at both the 2500 and the 3000 - the difference in size and weight is neglible, but the line capacity difference was enough to make me go for the 3000 - happy I did.

Actually this is the issue.... Line capacity!  :-[i've check the specs and indeed the 2500 and the 3000 have Identical weight and drag pressure! I would say they are the same size too but on the 3000 you get a T handle.

Robert: How much line does your 3000 reel take?

Line Capacity: 220yds/8lbs, 185yds/10lbs, 150yds/12lbs, 100yds/16lbs

Thanks.... These are the line caps given by shimano, are they actually acurate?When they quote 12lb 150m, what diameter is the 12lb?
