Tatula 2025 casting rods

Featured Replies

Anyone have any experience with the new Tatula rods? Are the actions accurate? I’m looking to switch from dobyns to Daiwa. I need a bladed jig rod but not the glass version, preferably graphite. Texas rig and a jig/top water rod but mainly jig.

Bladed jig 3/8oz and sometimes 1/2oz

Texas rig 1/4 - 3/8oz

Jigs 3/8oz mainly -1/2oz

Topwater 3/8oz mainly

I can only speak to the elite line (non ags or ags) - if bladed jig is your primary on this, Daiwa's "R" action is pretty much perfect. MH/R to be specific. More of a moving bait rod that a jig/tx rig rod. But if you told me I had to do everything with a single rod it would be one of the following:

Daiwa MH/R - price point winner

Kistler Nitranium - fav so far, I just want a 7'2" or a 7"4'

Loomis MBR action - so expensive

St Croix SCV blank (I forget the model) - best as a big deep crank rod, but works pretty good on chatterbaits and other stuff.

If the new Tatula are anything like my previous years models they’ll be great. Nothing negative to say about them, they’re light, responsive, and have the quality to make you forget about blowing money on something 2x or 3x more expensive.

+1 on the MH/R suggestion. My favorite rod is a Zillion I got second (or third) hand locally and it’s that spec. I use it for everything but especially love it for bladed and regular jigs.
