Strike King rage bug minnow ❓

Was watching a video of a well known fisherman using one in the same manner as a buzzbait.

Anyone tried this and how would you compare it's effectiveness to a buzzbait or WP.

Looks like a take on a buzzin' frog. I can only seem to find stock images, but I don't think it's meant to be fished on a frog hook. Anyone seen one of these rigged up? I could see this being cool.

I haven’t used the Rage Bug (is the minnow version a thing?) but I have used the Space Monkey extensively for the same thing and can say that it is almost magic.

@VolFan - totally different baits. The rage buzz minnow (not bug minnow) is a topwater lure that looks like a toad with a single tail. It fishes like a combination between a toad, a buzzbait, and a plopper.

Ah - I see what you’re referencing…Didn’t that used to be called a Rage Shad? That I have used with limited success; they seemed to like to roll and/or slowly spin on retrieve.

I bought some and took to a relative's pond. It was an overcast evening with a few sprinkles. Bass were all over it. Getting a good hookset was another story. It's a very thick bait. I was using a 6/0 swimbait hook as someone on this site recommended. Maybe bigger bass would do a better job of finding the hook. I switched to a toad after snatching the bait away from a bunch of dinks. I gave them time to take it. They just couldn't compress the body I guess.
