Spincast reels ?

Featured Replies

I have tried a couple of different baitcast reels and I just cannnot work them but I love to fish. I currently use an uglycast spincast reel that I bought for 12 bucks at Wal Mart. I like it well enough but was wondering if there is a lighter but better model of spincast reel out there to upgrade my fishing? Any suggestions would be helpful and if it would be better to use a spinning real of better quality instead of the spincast I would be willing to try that as well. I don't have the money to spend alot fo dolars but I could probably go anywhere from $500.00 to $75.00. Thanks for the help and good luck fishing everyone!

Check out the BPS catalog for spincast reels.  AbuGarcia still makes them as does Daiwa.  One of the best bass fishermen I ever saw used nothing but Johnson Century reels with 8lb line.  I swear the guy could catch bass in his bathtub ;D

the zebco 33 is a classic reel.

I was noticing in Wal-Mart the other day that they make three different versions,  the platinum edition and so forth.  Also there are a couple of sizes.

It's fun to use and great for teaching kids.

They don't make them like they used to.  My dad has a couple that are 30+ years old and they are much smoother and cast better than any of the newer ones I've bought.

Hey Mendota welcome to the site.

I'm not far from you down near Peoria. I used to cover Mendota as a territory and spent lots fo time over at RR Donnelly's
