Standard jig into a shakey head

Featured Replies

I seen reference to an item that can be put on a hook and/or jig and turn it into a shakey head. Any info on how to aquire some would be most appreciated. Thanks.

To tell you the truth, for something that 's so easy to loose due to hang ups ( man I excell in doing that   ;) ) I find the price of commercial shakey heads pretty expensive, at almost a dollar a pop ( sometimes more ) I can easily spend 10-20 dollars on a weekend.

What I 've done for many years before all the craze of the "shakey" head ( been rigging soft plastics for years on jigheads ) is to pour my own " Raul 's shakey heads ", all you need is a couple of DO-It molds, regular round head and football head and a couple of packs of 3/0, 4/0 & 5/0 90° jig hooks and a melt pot. The molds need a little doctoring in the hooke eye cavity to allow the slightly larger hook eye found in those hooks. I don 't even bother to paint them.

Then when I 've got nothing to do I just pour a bunch of shakey heads & sinkers. You can add a Hitchhiker if you want to, I 've done it and to tell you the truth I see no difference at all in the performance, just drive in the nose of the bait on the bait holder and then t-rig the bait.

That's the item Slomoe, thanks.

Raul, yeah, I'd like to make more stuff, but I'm in the process of moving, so I think it will be atleast 2 years before I'm done moving, and settled into the new place to the point I can do things like that. Most likely going to be building myself.
