Fenwick HMG vs HMX

Featured Replies

i was woundering whats the main diff between a fenwick hmg and hmx and is the hmg worth the $40 or no?

any one who owned both or one would be great to hear how you liked it or didnt

thanks bassmaster

I have the HMX, It's a GREAT rod. I've never used the HMG, but I'm sure it's a pretty good rod. I know Muddy just bought a HMG. You might ask him what he thinks about it.

BTW........... I'm selling a HMX you might want to check it out, http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1204865254

:) 8-)

The Hmg is a " Stiffer rod" both are great products. After many changes and experiments i am going back to all Fenwicks. I have an Eagle GT, HMX, working on a second HMG and a Techna AV everyone of them is great for what i use them for. It took some doing I am finally at home and comfortable with fenwicks. I am not saying other rods are not good, the All Stars were particularly interesting but I just love my fenwicks

What Muddy said.  Only I'm keeping my All Stars.

IMHO the HMX is better than the St Croix Premeir at a lower price. The HMG is very close to a St Croix Avid, and also cost's less. I own both HMX's and HMG's, and both St Croix's as well.
