Falcon Low Rider

Featured Replies

I'm kind of a bottom feeder when it comes to casting rods, but I bought a 6'6" MH Falcon Low Rider a couple of weeks ago and have come to feel that it is the best rod I have ever used.

I know there are more expensive rods out there, but I find that I can put a spinnerbait anywhere I want with this rod.  The shop I bought it from says they have a tough time selling Falcon.  I can't understand why.  They seem to sell a lot of rods that cost almost three times as much.

Funny you mentioned a Low Rider. I'm probably going to order one at the end of the week. I did a lot of looking into them, seems like a great rod for the money, plus a five year gaurentee. If you don't mind my asking, whadya pay for it ?

$99  I stopped by today and he didn't have any more.

And if you like the LowRider you'll love the Cara! More $$ for sure, especially in the new T7 versions, but alot of rod for the bucks.

Cara's are on sale at tackle warehouse for $99. Last year model.

I have a Cara, good rod, made with good components,an all around good deal for the money. They might not be as fancy looking as a Legend or a GLoomis, but they get the job done.

I just got a pair of technique specific low riders from Tackle Warehouse. I bought the LFC-4-16 for jerk baits and small topwaters and the LFC-5-164 for spinner baits. The actions are appropriate for the baits they were designed for. The quality seems good for rods in this price range. The 5 year warranty seems fair and I like the "made in the USA" label. All in all, I'd have to say I'm pleased with my purchase.  :)

I have quite a few Falcons and am quite fond of them.  The new Cara T7's are real real nice for the $$.  I have several Lowriders, my extendable Flipping is one of them and it has a lot of back!

IMHO- great rods, made in the U.S.A., not machine wrapped, great warranty, great people, and made in the ol midwest!

Falcons are awesome rods in my mind.  They are right up there w/ St. Croix in my mind!

Funny you should mention that.  I was looking for a spinning rod for fishing Senkos and ended up buying a St. Croix Premier from the same shop last week.  (I hope SWMBO doesn't get too upset with me.)

It seems awfully nice for the money too.  I know Muddy has complained about problems with the guide inserts falling out, but it has a five year warranty, so I am not too worried about it.

The Low Rider is a great rod! I have one that is several years old an I love it....but I love most Falcon rods. Great value!
