Graphite and Sensitivity

Featured Replies

Ive notice that graphite rods have IM6, IM7, IM8, IM9 etc...graphite. My question is how much difference will there be in sensitivity between these different types assuming that the increase in number is an increase in quality, and what other factors effect sensitivity in a rod. Bill dance tried to tell me in a video but his rod got broken in a fan  ::)

Thanks,

one im6 can be a different modulous than another im6.im numbers are not specific to modulous.the higher the modulous the more sensitive the graphite.it also becomes more brittle and harder to make a rod with.there are also many other factors that make a rod sensitve.line has more to do with it than anything else.braid is most sensitive followed by flouro and then mono.just get a good quality rod and the sensivity will take care of itself.

Neat article by G Loomis.  Sort of lets you know what they are going to say when you ask them to replace a rod for you.
