Flouro on dropshot rod?

Featured Replies

I have been thinking about using flourocarbon for my dropshot rod, but I am not sure which brand to get, I am thinking to get a 10-12lbs test.

What do you guys/girls use?

If you're fishing smaller baits in clear water, you should go down to 6 lb. or 8lb. floro. Just be sure to set your drag appropriately.

I would check out P-Line Halo or Seaguar floro.

For dropshotting, I would go no heavier than 8 pound.

I like trilenes 100% flurocarbon.

Yup, in 6 or 8.

I'm probably the only person in the world who does not have a problem with Vanish.  That being said, I currently use 8lb mono for dropshooting.

I would use 6 or 8lb 100% Trilene but another line I have used and liked a whole lot for drop shotting is 6lb Trilene Sensation.  It has less stretch than mono but is easier to manage than fluro.  I use both at different times.  Mainly Fluro for deeper than 20-25' and Sensation less than 20'.

I know I heard some guys saying they did not quite like that line, that is what made me start this thread. I have been using 8lb for dropshooting but I like to see if there is a better line for me out there.
