Looking for something to throw these swimbaits with (8-10"), under $100

Muskie rod might be the best way to go. They are designed for heavy baits and heavy fish.  Store brand might be the best way to go. I don't really care for gander mountain but they do make some good rods for under 100.

For you?  I would select something with a good warrenty.  ;D

i havent fished swimbaits, but tackletour gave the okuma a good review in its swimbait rods war, a Best Value Award, and said for the price it cant be beat and is a steal. I definitely think thats the way to go

russ i just picked up a 7'6" okuma and paired it with a lefty cardiff 300A, any time you wanna try it out just lemme know.

That Daiwa rod is pretty nice looking.  Too bad they are out of stock.

Although, I don't think I am allowed to put my Calcutta on a Daiwa rod.  Some people would look down on that.

last i remember he uses okuma SPINNING rigs for throwing swimbaits.  Not for the average user  8-).

Russ fishes both, but I think he prefers spinning tackle, too.

hrm... well if one MUST stay under 100 then i guess the daiwa and the fig rig rods are the only game left (for swimbait "specific" rods anyways).

I believe the only issue w/ that is the fact that you will pay shipping.  Shipping for a rod that large will likely be considerably more than the $10 difference if you were to get it from TW.  

Okuma if you'll pay the extra $10. Hands down.

If not, $100 for the Fig Rig rod.

The 4 Seasons Sporting Goods, Bobs Bauits and Postipalks all sell them for 95 to 99 here. MSP is usally discounted somewhat, unless it is a company like St Croix and Fenwick that fix prices .
