Went to Academy Sports today for some shotgun shells and thought I'd check on any clearance specials in the fishing reels.  Just one in particular caught my eye.  A Zillion marked down to $39.99.  Needless to say, they only had one at that price.  I can't stop smilin'.

I checked all the Academy Sports near me this week and none had that deal.  I told a clerk about it and he said it had to be a mistake.

Yeah, it was a mistake. Instead of marking the Shimano Cruixis @ $39.99 they marked the TD Zillion at that price. When the manager figured out what happened, he was like "I don't understand?!" How could you get the two mixed up? That's when I told him if it was going to cause someone to lose their job, I didn't want the thing. He said nobody would get fired and he could sell one at that price. I didn't argue.

The funny thing is, someone returned the reel after using it. Last night I started tearing it down to get all the grease out and noticed a couple of scuff marks and a dried layer of green slime on the frame. Not that I'm complaining at all because it's by far better than any of my other reels. I'm more than satisfied with the deal. Later on.
