my wallet is hurting

Featured Replies

I've been bass fishing for about three years and up untill about two weeks ago, I've used wal-mart combos.  Well I decided that it was time to upgrade so over the past couple of weeks I have gotten a total of four bps carbonlite rods( two casting and two spinning).  Went to the classic this morning and purchased two johnny morris elite casting reels and a pro qualifier spinning reel.  I am very happy that I was able to upgrade but man....my wallet would float if i tossed it in the air right now.

were the carbonlite rods on sale?  There was some talk that they would not be on sale???

Here are rods you can afford at a price you won't be able to beat

www.acadiasports.com

I would put their M series against any rod selling right now between the $100-$140 price range

Oh and there customer service can't be beat period

this is only the beginning........

I hate spending money on anything!!! My sneakers are run down, i dont wear expensive clothes but... When it comes to fishing... I own a 2008 ranger with more tackle and gear than i can fit in my boat. I wont spend 100$ on a new pair of shoes but i have no problem buying cumara rods, core reels, lucky craft lures and anything else i wamt for fishing. Welcome to the club!!!

don't feel bad, between 2 rod/reel combos and lots of lures and replacement transducer, I am out around $200-250 this week alone.. of course some of the sales were from bassassassin where there was 100 count lure for $3...

Its all in the love of the sport,I've been buying new lures all winter and then i just bought a 15.5 FT. stratus bass boat for $2500 so god only know how much i have spent for this coming season alone, just don't tell your wife ;D

Don't feel too bad. This year alone and i've spent over $1500 on gear. :D just got back from the classic and dropped another $300.

LoL, thanks guys. Funny though...my wife is always asking me" how many rods, reels, and tackle do you need"? I just smile and walk away

I checked out this website but the thing I'm confused about is they don't list the action on any of their rods. They have the power listed under "Action" but nothing for action. I was ready to order but kind of hard without knowing that.

Any thoughts?

Most of the baitcasting rods have a fast/moderate action, in other words its fast enough for lets say t-rigs but still stout enough for crankbaits. The spinning reels have a pure fast action.

All the rods are built around an all purpose mind set

For example I bought an F-series 6' 6" fro cranking and it work great for that. But when I wanted to switch it up and use a craw on a 1/4oz ball head jig it worked great for that too. Or if I wanted to throw a 1/2oz jig it worked great for that two.How about a wakebait? did that great to.

In the end its perfect for a guy like me because I can't afford a rod for each application so when I buy a rod it does double duty.

I hope you like those rods. My wife came home with a new purse. I know she won't buy one that costs under $300-$350, plus you know she had to get the matching wallet, keychains, and every other stupid thing they need to feel pretty. So I did what any good husband would do....I went onto Tackle Warehouse and dropped $200 on some LC Pointers, a ton of Reage Tails, Owner Twistlocks, line, and some Koppers. Than I bought a Powell off of the flea market for $100, and just pick up some Hart Shocker tubes from Hart tackle. So I definitely feel your pain about having a light wallet. I have to deal with my wifes ridiculous purse fetish, and the stinkin bait monkey.
