What are they worth?

Featured Replies

I have 6 Rick Clunn reels I would like to sell. 2 are the first generations with the flipping switch, used but good mechanical condition. 4 are a year old (blue ones) in excellent condition. 2 used all year, 2 used once at the end of the year.

So what should I ask for them?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but BPS reels resale value is pretty low..your probably looking at $30-$35.

I agree. The current mid-level BPS reels routinely go on sale for $60-$80, so used ones will bring substantially less.

The ones you have are also discontinued models, which decreases their resale value even more. I think tbird's price quote is pretty accurate.

The first gen reels are probably in the $30-$40 range. The 2009 model RC (blue) was discounted as low as $71 in December so that sets the ceiling. Spend some time on eBay to see what these 2009 models are going for. I'd say $50-$70 might be possible on these - especially if you still have the box and papers.
