Liberto PIXY

Featured Replies

I've been wanting to get a Yellow pixy for sometime and was about to pull the trigger on one until I came across this new PX-68R LIBERTO PIXY that is being released this month.  I've never had a JDM reel.  Any thoughts on this new reel?  It looks great.

looks like they changed the line guide and added a swept carbon fiber handle , if it is around the same price as the older one , definetly get the new one !!!

They also changed the gear ratio, spool, and braking system.

Yeh that makes sense. Not that 92 cents american USD = 1 yen. Which is how you made it look.  ::)

actually i was going off the price of the reel at http://www.marunouchishop.com/main/daiwa_e/ed_px_68.html .

the price is listed as 36105 yen, that why i posted about $385.

Sure enough, I was going off a 40000 Yen price.  Your price is correct based upon the info you provided.  As a matter of fact, I owe you one!  My old MAC died about a year ago after 6 years of great service and took all my Japanese, French, German, Italian and Spanish fishing websites, blogs and vendors.

I was thinking about this one yesterday as a matter of fact.

the new 68X is a nice reel!

still waiting to hear as to parts availability

the yellow suits the pixy '04' pixy rod well :)

paypal's exchange rate >:)

one paint option is~http://www.office-zpi.com/

the reel has to be virtually new (reels with surface issues are not accepted~forwarded to zpi)and sent through one of the shops listed at the bottom of the custom paint page

I've had reels painted by zpi~ very nice!

I would LOVE a custom Pixy, with one of the two colors in the neighborhood of med-dark green, to be paired with a BCR802.

Easy, get the Pixy, dissasemble it completely, send it to Calfish for a Killer paint job, while he 's painting it get the upgrade parts and once you have it back send it to DR for further customization. Not cheap but shure it will look reely nize.  ;)

How do you guys go through ZPI for paint or look around on their website since it's all in Japanese?

You can spend thousands of $$$ and many years of your life devoted to study or use google language to tools to translate!

That will eventually be the course I take.  Unfortunately I've spent this entire year's tackle budget in the past two months.

I have an orange pixy with all the pixilla upgrades except the tdz line guide. Its a superb reel when you're makin wrist roll casts to get under tree limbs, boathouses/docks or any other tight spaces to avoid snags. The fact that it is so light with a light spool makes pitching and wrist roll casts a breeze. I have mine on a loomis glx mbr 842 and man is it a sweet combo. I use it alot more then my supertuned steezes infact. I have caught 75 percent of my fish on that combo since I got it maybe 3 months ago.

The new pixy looks sinister, I love it. Sounds like Daiwa made all the right changes too. One thing I cannot stand about my pixy is how slow the gear ratio is. Way too slow imo and the new faster pixy should be a hit. Im gonna get two of them  ;D
