Thanks for input on previous post I made the decision to go with the Symetre 2500 for adding a second spinning rig to my boat.  Now, what rod would you recommend to match with it for under $150.  I'm planning to fish mainly plastics or small swim baits in LOZ around boat docks, on rocky bottoms and against shore.  What's your thoughts about optimum length of rod and action/tip?

You can purchase a Powell 703 MEF (Medium power with extra fast tip) for $139 which optimally works with baits from 1/8 to 1/2 ounce or you can go with the Powell 704 MHEF (Medium Heavy) which will handle 1/4 to 3/4 ounce baits for the same price.  These are very good rods at this price point. 

If you are willing to expand your price range a bit a number of rods become available in the $150 - 200 range.

Yep...I'm a big fan of the St. Croix Avids in this

pricing range. However, with a little patience, you

will find Avids offered on our Flea Market ~$100

or so. That's my recommendation.

If you are interested in a St.Croix AVID I have a used one.  It is a 6'6" med. fast action.  6-12lb. line and 3/16 - 5/8 lure.  Its a few years old and I did replace the tip.  The rod did not break,  but the ceramic fell out of the eye so I heated it up,  pulled the old tip off and reglued a new one on.  Very fishable rod.  I'd be willing to give it to you for $80 shipped.  If interested send me a pm.

what about e21 stick 150 dollars lifetime warranty

I have a e21 baitcasting cranking rod which I like OK - except for the foam grip.  While it's OK I'm not sure I would go that way for spinning rod.

If you don't mind that it's not "the last rage"," hot", "sexy","cool".....I'd recomand Fenwick's Techna AV, model AVS70MF. It's a $210 rod in clearance for $115. It's a heck of a rod for the $$$

I bought 3 Techna's over the winter (different models), I didn't realy had time to fish them a lot but they feel  realy "right" ; like it's exactly what the doctor prescribed.

I just ordered the Fenwick's Techna AV, model AVS70MF recommended by sal669.  While I had some leaning toward a split grip the idea of getting a $220 for a bargin won out in the end.  I'm looking forward to catching some big bass on it now.  THANKS to all who made recommendations.
