Anyone using a Shimano Sedona?

Featured Replies

Thinking about the 1000FD. Looks like they're comparable to the Saharas from a couple of years ago. The graphite frame has me a bit concerned. I would use it not just for drop-shot or shaky head, but for casting and retrieving light T-Rigs and cranks mainly. Strength, smoothness, and ease of retrieve is what I was wondering about. It would be spooled with 6 lb. Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft.

I got one the year I joined the Army (1997), and I used it until 2008. I gave it to a buddy who was in need of a spinning reel, and it is still in use.

I bought mine used back in '06 and it hasn't given me any problems.

Don't know why my last post didn't take.

What I was going to say was that I bought mine used back in '06, and it hasn't given me any problems.

I bought mine in 1995/6 when I worked at a tackle shop in high school.  I used it until this spring, now my buddy has it and still running perfectly...  My 4 month old Sahara already locked up on me...

I would buy another without thinking twice.

i fished a sedona 750fb a handful of times for panfish while i was in NC. i sold it to a member on the forum. great little reel at its price.

Great reel for the money. very smooth for a reel in that price range.

I love the sedonas. I have a 4000 that I use as a buzzbait reel. They rock!
