New Pfleuger Supreme XT

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried the new Pfleuger Supreme XT?  Saw one today at Cabelas and it looked and felt very very nice.

Thanks, :D

I also picked it up and played with it. It feels pretty nice, although what reel doesn't feel nice in that price range when new?. I have been using the previous model Supremes for about 3 seasons now and they are d**n good for what I paid.

Did you happen to see the new Patriarch spinning reel? I couldn't find one to pickup and play with. I'm very interested in it because its Pfluegers first 200 dollar spinning reel. I wonder if they pack the same bang for the buck as the others?

I have 3 supremes and they are pretty good reels.  I have the 35 size which I use for light inshore saltwater fishing, it's smooth, very light in weight and holds a lot of line.  That reel only has a max drag of 12# ( compared to stronger and better drags from the competion) and after about a years use the rotor is wobbly and needed repair, glad Pure Fishing just replaced the reel at no charge after warranty had expired.  This reel has caught scores of snook and jacks 5-15#, too much fish for these reels in the long run, but was a lot of fun.  The mg construction and bearings held up just fine.  What major improvement has Pflueger made ?  Probably nothing except a new look, I'd look for an older xt discounted, most likely same performance, excellent freshwater reel.

The XT is nice and light, and smooth. Worth the bucks.

I can not wait to get my hands on one of these reels. Shop around on the internet because I have seen them for 95.00 plus 5.00 for shipping compared to the 139.99 I think that they are going for. Right now I am focusing on upgrading my baitcasters . Good luck shopping and keep your lines tight. :D
