Been growing tired of my usual stomping grounds and wanted to find out more about Conowingo Res.

 I'm thinking of putting in at Broad creek,,,How is the fishing? Is there much of a current above the dam? Where is the old town located?  any info would be great.

I guess nobody knows :-X

Haven't been there in 20 years or so. I caught most fish on a 1/4 oz jig. Lots of stuff to run into as I remember. Caught some small smallies and a few largemouth. Sorry I can't offer more.

Hit Hopkins cove (last cove before the d**n) and the strecth or shore before you hit it.  Hopkins is very grassy and very close to deep water.

Water clearity will play a huge factor but in good conditions with nice clearity it's a small mouth factory with most being decent size, some hitting 3lb or maybe a 4lb in there.  

A big problem with Conowingo is the floating or submerged trees.  Yes trees not branches or drift wood but whole trees sometimes.  Just be careful though and you'll be fine.

Well my boat will do a quick 6 miles and hour,(electric outboard) so I guess the sunken trees wont be an issue on a clear day,,,Have you fished the old bridge?
