Smallie Beaver as a jerkbait.

Featured Replies

Some of you may have already done this, but I started doing this last week. I am using a RI Smallie Beaver(White Trash and Dirty Sanchez colors) rigged sideways with a screw in sinker. With the tails split, this thing gets great action. I fishing it like I would any soft jerkbait and am having pretty good success. This might be something to give a try.

Do me a favor Bass Paddler? Explain "rigged sideways"

I cant quite tell from the picture :-/

I am really into different/weird rigging methods for soft plastics.

Yeah I like weird rigging methods too. That is a good idea, is there any line twist issues???

Hester, I have not had any line twist issues with this, if the beaver is straight. ***atic, by sideways, I mean instead of the beaver swimming flat(horizontal) it is rigged so the flat sides are vertical.

Here is a picture of the normal rigged vs. sideways, maybe it will help.

Zooom! Went way over my head! :o

Gotcha now.Thanks. ;)

I saw another modification where you take the side paddles off, split the bait in half down the middle, and use it as a dropshot bait.   Didn't use it long enough (wacky senkos were working better on the dropshot that night), but it sounded cool
