After reading bassboss' last post I started wondering myself, eactly how far north in Florida I can catch peacocks.  I am coming to FL on leave in Feb. and the farthest south I will be going will be Palm Bay/Melbourne.  I know George Welcome is quite familiar with the area and I'd love for you to chime in if you read this George.  There are a couple of neighborhood lakes I fish when I come down that have pretty good populations of tilapia and other such non-native species, and was wondering if it was warm enough to support peacock bass.  If so, where are they!?  Thanks for you guy/gals' help!

I think you have to get into mid to south Palm Beach county to even have a chance at catching them. And the farther south you go the bigger and more dense the populations become. The farthest north I have caught them is just north of Okeechobee Blvd in central Palm beach county. I have heard of people catching them in southern Jupiter during the warmer months. I got this 2 lber a few weeks ago in that spot. Good luck, plan a roadtrip if you want some of these little beauties.

Agree with Tallydude.   I've heard stories about people catching them in North Palm county and maybe so.  I'm in South Palm Beach county and it's getting mighty tough to catch them here now.  We have had a very cool November.  I'm catching a few in Broward county, but not like last year.

agreed. As stated in another thread the c-51 is about the furthest north you will find a decent population of them.
