Goose Creek Res./ NOVA

Featured Replies

Can someone who knows a thing or two about Goose Creek res. PM me so we can talk shop.  Don't have to give me your money spot, just got some yes or no questions.

Goose Creek Res is not open to the public for fishing. I know people who snuck out there and got in deep trouble. Beaverdam res, which Goose creek flows into, is public and has been discussed here before.

i remember when it was open a long time ago, ive fished there. i heard several reasons for it being shut down was due to people swimming illegally and some did drown, a lot of partying there and people trashing the place, and security reasons...

Always a few bad apples.

Hate when I find people swimming at Burke

To all you Burke "Experts", has anyone checked the lake lately?  Is it still Iced over, I was planning on going there Sunday at 0'dark 30, so to get out of my house and clear my mind of all stresses.  But don't want to go if its iced over still.

Still frozen.  The only non-tidal bodies not frozen right now in this area are a few "subdivision" ponds (like some of the ones in Ashburn) that have a fountain in the middle that pushes the water around and prevents the ice from setting up.  Although, with temps in the teens 2 nights ago...even those may be frozen now.

It has been just brutally cold.... fish might be huddled at the bottom in a big pile under a snuggie or something

Is this pushing back when most people will be seriously hitting the water?
