THE GREATEST BLUES EVER WRITTEN PLAYED BY AMERICA'S GREATEST MUSICIAN

Recommended Posts

Hey Fellas; When I lived in New Orleans, I saw: The Whole Marsalis Family,Dr.John, Marica Ball, Allan Tousaint, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Dirty Dozen and many many more do this tune. They were all great But none like this;

You can feel the sadness of a man seeing his sweetheart layed out in a morgue:

Mr. Armstrong originally recored his version in 1928, it is even older than that, one of the first blues ever written.  He did not write it , I believe the author is annonymous.

Son Houses tune was written and published some time in the early 30's

Every once in a while Bonnie Raitt, who learned directly from Son House will pull Death House Letter out and she wails it!

she sure does. She also does a great "Walking Blues." Those are probably my two favorite blues songs.

Among mine also HEY BMADD AND DOMINION DAN, get a copy of

BBKING"S SUMMIT CD, he plays with a lot of bluesmen, this album won a handful of WC Handy Awards as well as Grammy's

Check out his duet with ALBERT COLLINS on STORMY MONDAY, it's in my top five blues recordings of all times,the contrast when Albert gets his second stinging Telecaster driven solo going into some of BB's all time best soulful singing. Thats it I am putting it on! 8-)

Awesome looking cd Muddy. I wish it had his version of Thrill is Gone with Bobby Bland though. That is one of my all time favorites.

It is Bobby Blue Bland. The fearless leader of Team Depends just has a little trouble remembering to spell check sometimes  ::)

Bobby Blue Bland or Bobby Blue Band.  That one would be hard to automatically spell-check.  One would have to proof-read what he writ.  Muddy don't do that.  He's a Mook. Nuff said. ;D
