I don't care a thing about women's athletics or basketball,

let alone the combination of the two. However, this is such

a huge accomplishment, I applaud this lady:

The Lady Vols also boast 100% graduation of their student

atheletes.

Great program, always fun to watch and a remarkable coach. It is embarrassing to admit, I think on any given day they could beat my St.Johns men's team :-?

Even though women's basketball is the most boring thing in the world what Mrs. Summit accomplished is a show of pure domination, and I can respect that.

Tenn. women could play St. Johns 20 times and never even come within 30.

If I'm not mistaken, Pat said she is prouder of the graduation rate than the wins. We need more role models like her. Not just in sports either.

My 4 favorite College Coachs of all time' Carnaseca,Thompson,Summit and Valvano, all had great graduation rates

Muddy,  I am not 100% sure, but you may want to check V's graduation rate.  I don't think it was that great.

Joe Paterno has always prided himself on the grad rate for his players at Penn State, too.

I checked, Valvano had pretty good graduation rates at Bucknell and Iona, but according to a couple of websites only 3 players graduated from NC State.  That's three players in 10 years.  Not entirely his fault, the school admitted them, not him.

This is very true I know more about his carrer up at Iona than the other schools. I did not know his rate at Bucknell and NC , I spoke too soon.

Congratulations Pat Summit & the Lady Vols ;)

Gotta throw in Bob Knight too with the great coaches with great graduation rates.  I believe Bob was 100% as well.

I enjoy wathing the Lady Vols.  They are very young this year though and with Baugh being lost for the year the other night, they will be lucky to make it to the Elite Eight.  Here's hoping to another Final Four though.

Agree, Bobby Knight is a Hall Of Fame coach with teams that had good scholastic records also I wish he would have come tio the East Coast and straightened out the Johnnies! :-/

congrats to her and her players.

in any forum, it is a remarkable achievement.

She is a class act and a winner. I have nothing but respect for Coach Summitt. Congrats to her!

If you look deep enough into Pat's story, you'll find that the girls that committ to her program learn a new meaning of the word 'committment'.  I can't imagine trying to successfully play ball for her and do well in school as well.  If you are a recruit, I suppose you really have to want it.

No question she is an unbelieveble coach and figurehead for UT.

Bama fans can't like anything about Tennessee, but 1,000-186 is impressive. Congratulations Pat.

Wow the 186 is more impressive than the 1000.
