A little schadenfreude

delight in another person's misfortune

Before our trip to Astor, FL to fish the St. John's River and Lake George we had been warned that the water patrol folks were really conscientious about enforcing the no-wake zones and speed limits on the river.

Yesterday morning we noticed the water patrol boat sitting at the mouth of a creek just off the river. One of the officers had a radar gun that he trained on every boat coming up the river. After a while the engine fired up, the blue lights came on and the officers intercepted five jet skiers who were violating the 30 mph speed limit.

Several fishermen in in the area were observed exchanging high fives. ;D

LOL, I wish the Mecklenburg County sheriff boats in Lake Wylie spent as much time actually enforcing those. I have seen them turn a blind eye countless times to some water ski boat running inside a no wake zone open throttle.
