How often do you use a spinnerbait trailer?

Featured Replies

I went with never.  I use customized skirts or Strike King perfect skirts on many of my spinnerbaits.  Those look like a "tail" and that suffices for a trailer.  On some spinnerbaits, I just leave them like they are.  It all depends.

I replied rarely and I mean real rare. Twice a summer would cover it. Trailer hooks are a different matter and always would cover them.

trailer hooks always, trailers never, i've just never seen a need for them on spinnerbaits. although i do fish a few that have the perfect skirt built in trailer thing

Trailer always; trailer hooks never   ;)

I don't fish spinnerbaits often, but when I do they normally have a trailer.

I like the big Dixie Spinnerbaits, and most of them come with a 2" grub on a trailer hook. There have been a few times when I was glad to have it.

Trailers, only in muddy water. Trailer hooks, ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!  ;)

Always a Zoom Fat Albert.

Always a trailer hook. Most of the skirts I use have a few longer strands added to the skirt.

I almost always use a trailer, but never use a trailer hook.

For trailers, a Fluke is the first choice. Half a Power Worm works nicely.

No trailers for me, although i tried some back in the day. Maybe they are needed for off-color water, but all my lakes are clear, if that helps.

Spinnerbaits are my #1 all-time favorite lure, I probably fish them 60% of the time. I have never used a trailer, but always use a trailer hook.

I always use a trailer hook, but I don't use a trailer very often.
