Split ring pliers

No, but I'm going to have to give them a try.

Once you get it down...using your fingernails is the fastest way.  I've got a couple of pairs of good split-ring pliers, but I never use them.

I would never be able to tie a knot after trying that as all of my fingers would be bloody.

I totally agree with that. I use my fingernails 99% of the time. It is lightning fast and I never have to look for my pliers.

I have a nice pair that i got at a jewelry-making fair, small diameter, strong, and are very efficient. They stay in the "museum" at home, and that's where i fix my baits.

I have had a pair of those for 6 or 7 years. They're excellent, particularly on small-to-medium-size split rings.

I use my fingernails 99% of the time as well but switching out the larger split rings (Pencil Poppers, Hopkins spoons, etc) that come on baits designed for large game fish it can be a pain.  I will be purchasing these shortly.
