Moving to Norman.

Featured Replies

My unit has decided to relocate me to a different recruiting office near lake norman.  I am excited to be going somewhere new  as I have been at or near Lejeune for 10 years.  I am looking forward to the change in scene.

I just got back from two weeks in PA, some things I learned.  PA is beautiful but the roads suck.  NOVA traffic sucks worse than anything I have ever seen.  I am not saying all of the people from VA can't drive  but the ones I encountered couldn't.  I was glad to be back home after 10 hours on the road.

Maybe I can meet some of you guys that are near Norman and possibly pay for gas for a few trips to try and learn the lake.

Do you think you will have time to fish while on recruiting duty?? haha!! I'm stationed in Beaufort, SC at the air station down here but I was stationed in Jacksonville, NC for my first 4 years. What unit were you with? Nah I'm kidding about not having time to fish...my buddy is out there on the streets and he said the quotas have gotten easier since we aren't trying to plus up anymore..  I grew up about an hour and a half away from Lake Norman as well...that is a really nice area up there. Well good luck out there and Semper Fi!!

I've been on recruiting duty for two years now.  The time comes in short swings it seems.  I may have all of the time in the world this week but the next I don't.  I do actually love the job though.  I am continuing to help the Corps for years to come.  If anyone does fish Norman and wouldn't mind showing me around I would appreciate it. I should be settled in by mid June.

Also if I posted this in the wrong section please move it, I wasn't sure if it should go here or in the regional sections.
