Help Fast. Ga coastal fishing.

Featured Replies

My boy scout troop is leaving to go to Jekyll island tomorrow. I am gonna try to get in a little fishing time while down there. I need to know what bait I should use. I normally would use shrimp, but am not positive I will be able to get to a bait shop. What bait should I take as backup, that I can get locally. I am using steel double hook leaders with a 2 oz. weight on the bottom. I need to know by later tonight.

Thanks.

I am not from Georgia but I do alot of saltwater fishing here in NC. I have used berkley saltwater gulp on two hook bottom rigs. All you need to do is cut the gulp shrimp just as you would the reel thing. Gulp is biogradle so it will dislove if it is taken by a smaller fish. Ask someone locally for colors. New penny and white seems to work around here. Also if there is a Walmart or tackle shop nearby, try getting yourself some cut mullet strips. Bluefish and Big Red drum will bite it.

Good Luck and Have Fun!
