Food Source Baits

Hey, I recently bought a pack of their mealworms, but I've also noticed they have garden worms, and other things. Just wanted to know what you guys think of these baits, do they work like a live bait? How do you fish them, can you just rig them on a hook and let them sit on the bottom like you would live bait? I intend to fish them for panfish, and maybe give them a shot on trout, just wanted to know how you guys feel about these baits.
